Classic Hummus with Microgreens & Crackers

🔪 Ingredients

  • 1 can (400g) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2–3 tbsp cold water (for texture)
  • Fresh microgreens (e.g. mustard, radish, red cabbage)
  • Crackers for serving

🍳 Instructions

  1. Add chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, cumin, and salt to a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water a spoonful at a time to reach desired consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Spoon into a shallow bowl, swirl the top with a spoon, and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Top generously with fresh microgreens and serve with crackers.

🌱 Serving Suggestion

Serve as a starter or light lunch. Perfect with crackers, pita bread, or veggie sticks. Garnish with a sprinkle of black sesame or paprika for extra flavour and colour.
